NSCDC arrests five fake security operatives in Anambra

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Anambra State Command, has arrested five suspected fake private security operatives during a series of coordinated raids in Awka, the state capital.

According to the command, the suspects were apprehended following intelligence reports about unlicensed individuals parading themselves as security personnel and operating illegally within the state.

During the operation, officers recovered a pump-action rifle and other security paraphernalia allegedly used by the suspects to intimidate unsuspecting residents.

The NSCDC spokesperson in the state said the arrests were part of ongoing efforts to rid Anambra of illegal security outfits and ensure that only duly registered and authorised companies operate within the law.The command also urged residents to report suspicious security activities in their areas to prevent crime and maintain public safety.
