The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 40-year-old man, Clement Anthony, in connection with the murder of a community leader in the state.
According to the police, the suspect was apprehended following an investigation into the killing. During the operation, officers recovered a locally made gun believed to have been used in the crime.
The command said the arrest was made through intelligence-led efforts and assured residents that investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident and identify any possible accomplices.
Police added that the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation, while reaffirming their commitment to protecting lives and ensuring those responsible for criminal acts are brought to justice.
