21 Kidnapped Victims, Including Four Chinese Nationals, Rescued From Bandits’ Camp in Kwara

Security operatives in Kwara State have rescued 21 kidnapped victims, including four Chinese nationals, from a bandits’ camp located in the forests between Moro and Asa local government areas.The successful operation was carried out by a combined team of soldiers, police officers, and local vigilante groups following credible intelligence on the whereabouts of the abductors.

According to security sources, the victims were held captive for several days before the rescue team launched a coordinated assault on the hideout, leading to a gun battle with the bandits. Several of the criminals reportedly fled with gunshot wounds, while others were arrested.

The rescued victims, who appeared weak and traumatized, have since been taken to a medical facility for treatment and debriefing.Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, commended the joint security team for their bravery and swift response, assuring residents that efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and eliminate criminal elements terrorizing the state.He also urged communities to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements to security agencies to help sustain the fight against kidnapping and banditry.
