Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will not attend the Gaza peace summit scheduled for Monday in the Egyptian resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh, his office has announced.According to the statement, the decision was made because the meeting coincides with a major Jewish holiday, preventing the prime minister from participating.

The summit, which will bring together regional and international leaders, aims to advance efforts toward a lasting ceasefire in Gaza and the release of remaining hostages.Israel is expected to send a high-level delegation to represent the country in Netanyahu’s absence.
