The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, on Wednesday administered the oath of office to two newly elected senators.Joseph Ikpea of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was sworn in as the senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, while Emmanuel Nwachukwu of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) took the oath as senator representing Anambra South.The swearing-in ceremony took place during Wednesday’s plenary session at the National Assembly in Abuja.
The two lawmakers replace former senators whose elections were recently nullified by the courts, leading to the conduct of fresh elections in their respective districts.With their inauguration, the Senate now has a full complement of members from all senatorial districts across the federation.
