Armed bandits on Sunday launched a fresh attack on Rani community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing one person and abducting two others, including the village head.According to local sources, the assailants invaded the village in the early hours of the day, shooting sporadically to instill fear among residents.
In the ensuing chaos, one person was reportedly shot dead while the bandits whisked away the traditional ruler of Rani and another villager to an unknown destination.The attack, which has left the community in panic, comes amid renewed concerns over rising cases of kidnapping and insecurity in parts of Kwara North.Security operatives were said to have been deployed to the area, while efforts are ongoing to track down the perpetrators and rescue the abducted victims.Authorities have yet to issue an official statement as of the time of filing this report.
