The Lagos State Police Command has arrested five suspected cultists in connection with a deadly clash between rival groups in the Onireke and Isashi areas of Badagry.According to reports, the confrontation, which broke out late Sunday, left several people injured and caused panic among residents.
The suspects were apprehended during a swift operation by officers from the Badagry Division, who moved in to restore order and prevent further bloodshed.Spokesperson for the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the arrests, noting that the suspects are currently being interrogated as part of ongoing efforts to track down other members who fled the scene.
He assured residents that normalcy has returned to the affected communities and that security operatives remain on high alert to forestall further violence.Hundeyin urged youths to shun cultism and other criminal activities, emphasizing that the police would continue to crack down on groups threatening peace in the state.
