The National Examinations Council (NECO) has announced that 818,492 candidates, representing 60.26 percent of those who sat for the 2025 Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE), achieved five credits and above, including English Language and Mathematics.The Registrar of NECO, Prof. Dantani Wushishi, made the disclosure while releasing the results on Wednesday.
He noted that the performance marked a significant milestone for the examination body and the education sector.According to him, the results indicate steady progress in the quality of learning outcomes, despite the challenges facing the education system. He further explained that the achievements of candidates in key subjects such as English and Mathematics were particularly encouraging.
Prof. Wushishi commended teachers, parents, and stakeholders for their contributions to the improved performance and assured that NECO would continue to uphold transparency and credibility in its Examinations.
He also encouraged students who fell short of expectations not to lose hope but to see the results as motivation to work harder in their academic pursuits.
