Laura Ikeji Reveals How Friendship Ended Over Cartier Bracelet Gift

Celebrity Gossip Trending

Nigerian entrepreneur and social media personality Laura Ikeji has recounted how her friendship with a close friend ended after she refused to publicly display a Cartier bracelet she received as a birthday gift.

Speaking in a video shared online, Laura explained that the woman, who was initially her customer before they became friends, gifted her the expensive bracelet during her birthday celebration in March 2025.

According to Laura, she was excited about the gift and immediately shared the news with her friends. However, a few days later, the woman contacted her, asking when she intended to post the bracelet on social media.

Laura said her attitude towards showing off gifts online had changed over the years. She explained that although she genuinely appreciated the bracelet, she no longer felt the need to publicise every personal experience.

She recalled that the woman later questioned whether her refusal to post the gift meant she thought the bracelet was fake, despite having already sent her the purchase receipt.

Laura added that she even sent the woman a photograph of herself wearing the bracelet to demonstrate her appreciation, but the disagreement continued.

She eventually asked the woman if she wanted the bracelet returned. After receiving a response that suggested she could do whatever she wanted, Laura concluded that the gift was expected to be returned.

She subsequently packaged the bracelet and sent it back through her driver.

Laura said the incident marked the end of their friendship, adding that she had simply reached a stage in life where she no longer felt pressured to display expensive gifts on social media.
