Popular Nigerian skitmaker and activist, Mr. Macaroni, has opened up about the threats and intimidation he allegedly faced due to his outspoken views on government-related issues.
The comedian revealed that the situation became so serious that he decided to step back from publicly discussing political matters in order to protect his loved ones.
According to him, his family was constantly worried about their safety, with his mother often calling him in tears over what she described as suspicious movements around their home.
“I stopped talking about the government because I was receiving so many threats, and my family wasn’t safe. My mom would call me crying that there are strange movements around the house,” he said.
Mr. Macaroni further disclosed that concerns over his security grew to the point where some people suggested flying him out of the country for his own safety. However, he insisted on remaining in Nigeria despite the risks.
“It was so bad they wanted to fly me out, but I said, ‘No, I’m staying,’” he added.
Known for his strong opinions on governance, social justice, and citizens’ rights, Mr. Macaroni has remained one of Nigeria’s most vocal entertainers on public affairs. His revelation has since sparked conversations online, with many Nigerians reacting to the challenges faced by public figures who speak out on national issues.
