Gunmen have abducted 14 passengers travelling along a road in Benue State, with five of the victims later rescued by security operatives.
According to reports, the passengers were intercepted by the gunmen during the attack and taken into the bush.
The Benue State Police Command confirmed that five victims have so far been rescued, while nine others remain in captivity.
Security operatives are currently intensifying efforts to locate the remaining victims and secure their safe release.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over the safety of travellers in the state, as authorities continue efforts to combat kidnapping and other security threats across Benue.
