A 25-year-old woman, identified as Maimunatu Idris, has been arrested by the Kano State Police Command for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend and cutting off his manhood at a hotel in the Badawa area of Kano State.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the incident happened on Sunday, July 27, 2026, at Durbar Hotel. Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect allegedly attacked the victim with a sharp knife after discovering that he planned to marry another woman.
Police said they received a report from the hotel management at about 12:50 p.m., prompting officers from the Badawa Division to immediately visit the scene.
The suspect was arrested, while the knife allegedly used in the attack was recovered as evidence.
The injured man was rushed to Abubakar Imam Urology Hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment. Authorities said investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, condemned the act of violence and urged members of the public to avoid taking the law into their own hands, regardless of the circumstances.
