Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has withdrawn his request to subpoena the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS) in his ongoing alleged criminal defamation trial.
During the court proceedings, Sowore’s legal team informed the court that they would no longer insist on the appearance of the DSS Director-General as a witness. Instead, they opted to call another official to testify in the case.
The trial, which centers on allegations of criminal defamation against Sowore, continues as both the prosecution and the defence present their respective arguments and witnesses.
The court is expected to continue hearing the matter on a later date as proceedings move forward.
