Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested a couple in Edo State for allegedly operating a warehouse used to store and distribute illegal drugs.
According to the agency, the suspects were apprehended during a raid on the property after intelligence reports linked the location to drug trafficking activities. During the operation, NDLEA officers recovered large quantities of suspected illicit substances believed to have been prepared for distribution across different parts of the country.
The agency said the successful operation forms part of its ongoing efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks and reduce the circulation of illegal substances in Nigeria.
The suspects are currently in NDLEA custody and will face prosecution after investigations are concluded. Authorities also stated that efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest other members of the suspected drug distribution network.
The NDLEA reiterated its commitment to combating drug abuse and trafficking, urging members of the public to continue providing useful information that will help security agencies track down criminals involved in the illicit drug trade.
