A British man who was the subject of an international manhunt over the alleged murder of his wife and two daughters has been arrested in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The suspect, Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma, 45, was apprehended during a joint operation involving South African police, Interpol, the UK’s National Crime Agency, and Bedfordshire Police. He had reportedly fled the United Kingdom shortly before the bodies of his wife, Nothabo Zandile Tshuma, 42, and their daughters, Natalie, 15, and Nala, 5, were discovered at their home in Great Denham, Bedfordshire.

Police believe Tshuma left the UK on July 4 and travelled through Zimbabwe before being tracked to South Africa. Following his arrest, UK prosecutors authorized three murder charges against him. He is expected to appear before a South African court as extradition proceedings to return him to the UK get underway.

The tragic deaths have shocked the local community, with family members, friends, schools, and colleagues paying tribute to the victims and describing them as loving, kind, and deeply cherished.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing, while urging the public to avoid speculation as legal proceedings continue.
