The Abia State Police Command has dismantled a suspected criminal hideout in the Unuobasi Forest located in Umunneochi Local Government Area, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security across the state.
According to the police, the operation was carried out following credible intelligence that led operatives to the forest, where a camp allegedly used by criminal elements was discovered and destroyed.
Items believed to have been used by the suspects were recovered during the raid, while the occupants of the camp reportedly fled into the surrounding bush upon sighting the security operatives.
The police said the operation dealt a significant blow to criminal activities in the area and reaffirmed their commitment to tracking down the fleeing suspects.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information to security agencies to support efforts aimed at maintaining peace and security across Abia State.
