A Federal High Court in Abuja has granted activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore fresh bail in the sum of N200 million, weeks after revoking his earlier bail.
The court ruled that Sowore must provide one surety who owns landed property within Abuja. The property must be verified by the court before the bail conditions can be fulfilled.
The fresh bail follows proceedings in the case against the activist, with the court maintaining that he must meet all the stipulated conditions before regaining his freedom.
Sowore’s legal team expressed confidence that the bail conditions would be met, while supporters continue to monitor the case closely.
The matter has been adjourned to a later date for the continuation of trial.
