Residents of Yashikira community in Kwara State were thrown into panic after suspected bandits launched a violent attack on the area, abducting at least 10 people and setting parts of the Emir’s palace on fire.
According to reports, the attackers stormed the community in large numbers, causing fear and chaos among residents. During the attack, several people were reportedly kidnapped, including members of the Emir’s family.
Witnesses said the assailants operated for hours, moving through the community while residents fled for safety. The attackers also reportedly vandalized and burned sections of the Emir’s palace before escaping with their victims.
The incident has heightened concerns over insecurity in the area, as residents continue to call for urgent intervention from security agencies.
Authorities are said to have begun investigations into the attack, while security operatives have reportedly intensified efforts to track down the kidnappers and secure the release of those abducted.
