The Lagos State Police Command has unveiled a new tactical unit known as the โCommand Sweepers Squadโ in Ikorodu as part of renewed efforts to tackle insecurity in the area.
The special squad was officially launched to strengthen policing operations, improve rapid response to criminal activities, and enhance visibility of law enforcement in identified hotspots across Ikorodu and its environs.
According to the command, the initiative is aimed at restoring public confidence in security agencies and ensuring that residents can go about their daily activities without fear. The unit will focus on intelligence-driven patrols, targeted operations, and collaboration with local communities to curb crime.
Authorities say the move is part of broader strategies by the police to address rising security concerns and reinforce peace and order across Lagos State.
