Seven Arrested as Police Rescue Victims in Benue Abduction Case

Police in Benue State have arrested seven suspects in connection with the abduction that took place on April 15 in Otukpo, marking a significant breakthrough in efforts to tackle rising insecurity in the area.

According to a statement from security authorities, the arrests were made during a joint operation involving the police and other security agencies. Acting on credible intelligence, operatives tracked down the suspects to their hideouts, leading to their capture without major resistance.

During the operation, some of the kidnapped victims were successfully rescued. They have since been reunited with their families and are currently receiving medical attention and psychological support after the traumatic experience.

Police officials revealed that preliminary investigations indicate the suspects are part of a larger criminal network responsible for a series of abductions in and around Benue State. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang and dismantle the entire syndicate.
