Prince Harry Sued by His Own Charity (African charity)

Sentebale, the Lesotho-based AIDS charity co-founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso in 2006, is suing Harry and his friend Mark Dyer for defamation in London’s High Court.

The case stems from a bitter boardroom dispute last year with chair Dr Sophie Chandauka. After Harry and Seeiso stepped down as patrons, both sides traded accusations in the media. Chandauka claimed bullying and interference, while Harry’s camp called for her removal.

The Charity Commission later criticised both parties, saying the public row had damaged Sentebale’s reputation and distracted from its work supporting children in Lesotho and Botswana.

Sentebale now claims Harry and Dyer ran a “coordinated media campaign” that spread false narratives, causing reputational harm and operational chaos. The charity is seeking damages and a court order to stop further defamation.

Harry’s representatives called the lawsuit “offensive,” arguing the charity should focus on helping children instead of suing its co-founder. Legal costs are said to be covered by external donors, not charity funds.

The case remains in early stages, with full details yet to be released.
