A tragic incident has claimed the life of a teenage boy identified simply as Chike, who had travelled from Delta State to Lagos to visit a friend.
According to reports, the young visitor was shot dead by suspected cultists in the Ikotun area of Lagos State. The incident is said to have occurred while Chike was spending time with his friend, turning what was meant to be a friendly visit into a heartbreaking tragedy.
Eyewitnesses revealed that the attackers, believed to be members of a cult group, opened fire in the area, causing panic among residents. In the chaos, Chike was hit and fatally wounded.
The motive behind the attack remains unclear, and it is yet to be confirmed whether the victim was the intended target or a ัะปััะฐะน casualty caught in the violence.
Residents have expressed fear and concern over the rising cases of cult-related violence in the area, calling on security agencies to intensify efforts to curb the menace.
