Suspected Thugs Disrupt ADC Secretariat Opening in Cross River

The planned opening of a secretariat belonging to the (ADC) in Bakassi Local Government Area of was violently disrupted after suspected political thugs reportedly stormed the venue.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred while party members and supporters were gathered for the official inauguration of the new office in the Bakassi area. The attackers allegedly arrived in groups, creating panic as they forcefully halted the event.

Witnesses said the thugs destroyed several items at the secretariat, including chairs, canopies, banners, and other equipment set up for the ceremony. Supporters who had gathered for the event were also dispersed as people ran for safety to avoid being injured.

Some members of the party alleged that the attack was politically motivated, claiming it was an attempt to intimidate and prevent the ADC from expanding its activities in the area. However, the identities of those behind the disruption have not yet been officially confirmed.

The incident has raised concerns among residents and political observers about rising political tensions in the state, especially as political activities continue to increase ahead of future elections.
