
The Zamfara State Police Command has intercepted a large cache of explosives believed to be intended for criminal groups operating in the state.
According to the police, officers acting on intelligence stopped a suspicious vehicle during a routine operation and arrested the driver. A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of 954 explosives, suspected to be materials meant for the production of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) used by bandits.
The suspect is currently in custody and undergoing interrogation as investigations continue to determine the source of the explosives, their intended recipients, and any accomplices involved in the supply chain.
The police assured residents that the command remains committed to disrupting criminal networks and strengthening security across Zamfara State, urging the public to continue providing timely and useful information to security agencies.
