Police Arrest 14 Suspected Cultists in Ogun During Planned Initiation

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested no fewer than fourteen suspected cultists in Ipara-Remo, Ogun East Senatorial District, while they were allegedly preparing to carry out a planned initiation ceremony.

According to the police, the suspects were apprehended following credible intelligence reports that members of a cult group had converged in the community for an illegal gathering. Acting on the information, operatives of the command swiftly mobilised to the area and successfully foiled the suspected initiation exercise.

During the operation, officers recovered several incriminating items from the suspects, including dangerous weapons, charms suspected to be used for spiritual fortification, and vehicles believed to have been used to convey the suspects to the venue.

The suspects were immediately taken into custody and are currently undergoing interrogation as investigations continue to uncover the full extent of their activities and possible links to other criminal operations within and outside the state.Confirming the development, the Ogun State Police Command reiterated its zero-tolerance stance against cultism and other forms of criminality, warning that individuals involved in such activities would be dealt with decisively in accordance with the law.

The command also urged members of the public to continue to provide timely and credible information to security agencies, assuring residents of the police’s commitment to maintaining peace, safety, and order across the state.
