The Anambra State Police Command has foiled an imminent cult clash in Enugwu Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area, following a swift response by its operatives.
According to the Command, officers acting on credible intelligence moved in to disrupt the planned attack between rival groups. During the operation, two suspected cult members were arrested.
A locally made pistol was recovered from the suspects, along with other items believed to be used in their activities. Police say the arrests are part of an ongoing effort to rid the state of cult-related violence and restore peace in affected communities.
Spokesperson for the Command stated that investigations are ongoing, and efforts are underway to track down additional members of the groups involved. The suspects will be charged to court once the investigation is concluded.
The Commissioner of Police urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements, assuring the public of continued security operations to maintain safety across Anambra State.
