President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has forwarded a fresh list of 32 ambassadorial nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation, featuring several former governors, ex-ministers, and notable public figures.
The list includes former Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, former Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode, and writer and political commentator Reno Omokri. They are among those the President has selected to represent Nigeria in foreign missions across the world.

Tinubu’s nominations were conveyed in a letter read on the Senate floor during plenary. In the letter, the President urged the lawmakers to vet and confirm the nominees in accordance with the constitution.
Upon confirmation, the nominees will assume roles as ambassadors-designate, joining Nigeria’s diplomatic corps where they are expected to promote the nation’s interests, deepen bilateral relationships, and enhance the country’s global engagements.
The Senate is scheduled to commence the screening exercise in the coming days.
