Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has inaugurated a high-powered security committee tasked with devising immediate and long-term measures to stem the rising wave of bandit attacks in the state.

The committee, chaired by the Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi, is expected to conduct a thorough review of current security challenges and propose actionable strategies to enhance the safety of residents. According to the governor, the mandate includes developing short-, medium-, and long-term plans aimed at strengthening security architecture across vulnerable communities.

Governor AbdulRazaq emphasized that protecting lives and property remains his administrationโ€™s top priority, adding that the government is working closely with security agencies and community stakeholders to restore peace, especially in areas recently hit by attacks.

The committeeโ€™s recommendations are expected to guide government decisions as Kwara intensifies efforts to combat banditry and ensure a safer environment for all citizens.
