Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has inaugurated a high-powered security committee tasked with devising immediate and long-term measures to stem the rising wave of bandit attacks in the state.

The committee, chaired by the Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi, is expected to conduct a thorough review of current security challenges and propose actionable strategies to enhance the safety of residents. According to the governor, the mandate includes developing short-, medium-, and long-term plans aimed at strengthening security architecture across vulnerable communities.

Governor AbdulRazaq emphasized that protecting lives and property remains his administration’s top priority, adding that the government is working closely with security agencies and community stakeholders to restore peace, especially in areas recently hit by attacks.

The committee’s recommendations are expected to guide government decisions as Kwara intensifies efforts to combat banditry and ensure a safer environment for all citizens.
