
Panic erupted in Lagos in the early hours of Monday after a two-storey building reportedly collapsed, leaving many feared trapped beneath the rubble.

The incident, which occurred at an undisclosed location in the state, has drawn emergency response teams to the scene as rescue operations are said to be underway.As of the time of filing this report, the number of casualties could not be immediately ascertained, but eyewitnesses said several occupants of the building were still trapped.

Officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other rescue agencies are currently making efforts to search for survivors and recover victims.Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the cause of the collapse.
