Tension flared at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja on Friday as angry supporters from Ekiti State staged a protest over the exclusion of Kayode Ojo from the forthcoming governorship primary election.
The protesters, carrying placards with various inscriptions, accused the partyโs leadership of unfairly disqualifying Ojo, describing the move as undemocratic and a plot to impose a candidate on the people.
Chanting solidarity songs, the demonstrators demanded the immediate reversal of the decision and called for transparency and fairness in the primary process.
Security operatives were seen at the scene to prevent the protest from escalating, while party officials declined to address the crowd at the time of filing this report.
