The Department of State Services (DSS) has apprehended two former officers, Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, for allegedly posing as active operatives of the agency to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.In a statement released on Wednesday,
the DSS confirmed that the suspects, who had earlier been dismissed from the Service, were arrested following credible intelligence and ongoing investigations into their fraudulent activities.The agency warned the public to be wary of individuals claiming to be DSS personnel without proper identification, stressing that the Service would not tolerate any acts capable of tarnishing its reputation.
โThe suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution upon completion of investigations,โ the statement added.The DSS also reiterated its commitment to maintaining professionalism and discipline within its ranks while assuring Nigerians of its continued efforts to safeguard national security.
