Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, alongside several US officials, has refuted allegations that the Nigerian government is backing the terrorist group Boko Haram.Omokri described the claims as “false, unfair, and completely lacking credible evidence,” stressing that such narratives only serve to tarnish Nigeria’s image internationally.
He urged critics to focus on supporting the country’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism rather than spreading misinformation, adding that Nigeria has lost countless lives and resources in its fight against Boko Haram.Similarly, a US mayor and other international observers echoed Omokri’s stance, emphasizing that there is no verifiable proof linking the Nigerian government to the extremist organization.
They called for greater collaboration between Nigeria and its global partners to strengthen counterterrorism strategies and promote peace in the West African region.
