Senior Hamas official Osama Hamdan has dismissed former U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to establish an interim “Board of Peace” to administer Gaza.Speaking in an interview with Qatar-based Al Araby TV on Thursday, Hamdan said Hamas firmly rejects the idea, which Trump suggested would be led by himself to oversee Gaza’s post-war governance.
Hamdan described the proposal as “unacceptable interference” in Palestinian affairs, insisting that the people of Gaza have the right to determine their own leadership and future without foreign control.
Trump had earlier floated the concept of a “Board of Peace” as part of his plan to stabilize the region and promote long-term peace between Israel and Palestine. However, Hamas maintains that any solution must recognize Palestinian sovereignty and resistance against occupation.
