Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has finally addressed the viral video showing him in a heated altercation at the Port Harcourt International Airport.
In a fresh video shared online, Portable explained that the incident was not what many people thought it was — it was actually a prank gone wrong.
According to the “Zazuu” crooner, a group of popular TikTok pranksters had approached him at the airport without his knowledge or consent to carry out one of their dramatic skits. He said he was caught off guard by their actions, which made him react instinctively in self-defense.
Portable described the group as “death pranksters,” noting that they are infamous online for staging bizarre and over-the-top stunts. He went on to explain that their usual content involves one of them pretending to die in someone’s house, while the rest act heartbroken — crying, wailing, and showing up repeatedly — only for the “dead” person to suddenly come back to life days later.
The singer said he found it disrespectful that they would attempt such a stunt with him at a public place like an airport, especially without any form of notice. He also warned content creators and pranksters to be cautious about involving celebrities in their videos without consent, emphasizing that not everyone would take such “jokes” lightly.
Portable concluded by reaffirming that he was not at fault and that the matter had been exaggerated online, urging fans to disregard false narratives circulating about the incident.
