Yesterday, at Government House in Asaba, I had the distinguished honour of presenting two brand-new buses — a Toyota Coaster and a Toyota Hiace — to Warri Wolves Football Club and Delta Queens Football Club respectively.
This gesture is not just about providing vehicles; it is a deliberate investment in the welfare and performance of our athletes. Reliable transportation plays a vital role in ensuring that our players travel in comfort and safety, whether for training sessions, league matches, or tournaments across the country. By easing their movements, we hope to boost their morale and performance while also strengthening the professional structures around our clubs.
Delta State has long maintained a leading position in Nigerian sports, producing some of the finest athletes who have brought pride to our state and the nation at large. This presentation is therefore another step towards consolidating our state’s dominance, while also sending a strong message that my administration is fully committed to sustaining and even surpassing our achievements in sports development.
Beyond football, we remain determined to extend similar support to athletes across other disciplines, ensuring that their welfare, facilities, and opportunities remain a top priority. Our ultimate goal is to empower them to continue excelling both on and off the pitch, representing Delta State with distinction wherever they go.
