Police to Enforce Tinted Glass Regulations in Delta, Sokoto from Thursday

The Police Commands in Delta and Sokoto States have announced that they will begin the full enforcement of regulations on vehicles with tinted glasses starting Thursday, October 2, 2025.According to the Commands, the move is in line with federal directives aimed at curbing criminal activities and enhancing security across the country.

The police noted that the unchecked use of vehicles with tinted glasses has been linked to rising cases of armed robbery, kidnapping, and other violent crimes.Motorists have been advised to ensure compliance by obtaining proper authorization for the use of tinted glass or face arrest and prosecution. The Commands warned that vehicles found with unauthorized tints will be impounded, and offenders will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

The police also appealed to residents for cooperation, stressing that the enforcement is not targeted at innocent citizens but designed to strengthen safety and security.Both Commands assured that the exercise would be carried out professionally and in strict adherence to human rights standards.
