Police, Army Rescue Eight Kidnapped Bus Passengers in Kogi

The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the rescue of eight passengers who were abducted by gunmen along the Okene–Lokoja highway on Friday.According to police spokesperson William Aya, a commuter bus belonging to Big Joe Ventures Ltd was attacked by armed men, who whisked away all twelve occupants into the bush.

Aya explained that security operatives, including police officers and soldiers, swiftly launched a joint operation, combing the surrounding forest. Their efforts led to the rescue of eight victims, while a manhunt is ongoing to free the remaining four.He assured that the command remains committed to ensuring the safe return of the other abducted passengers and to dismantling criminal networks operating within the state.

Meanwhile, the state government has urged residents to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies as operations continue in the affected area.
