Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has renewed his call for an increased military presence in the state following the deadly bandit attack on Oke-Ode community in Ifelodun Local Government Area.The attack, which claimed several lives, has thrown the community into mourning and heightened fears over rising insecurity in parts of the state.In a condolence message on Sunday, the governor described the incident as โshocking and devastatingโ, stressing that the safety of citizens remains the top priority of his administration. He pledged continued collaboration with security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are tracked down and justice served.
AbdulRazaq, who noted that rural communities are becoming easy targets for criminal gangs, appealed to the Federal Government to deploy more military personnel and resources to Kwara to strengthen existing security measures.โOur hearts go out to the families of the victims of this senseless attack.
We will not relent in seeking stronger security presence to safeguard the lives and property of our people,โ the governor said.The state government has directed emergency agencies to provide support to the affected families while security operatives intensify surveillance across vulnerable areas.
