Lagos Police Arrest Notorious Armed Robbery Kingpin, John Samuel
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old notorious armed robbery kingpin, hired assassin, and suspected murderer, John Samuel.
According to a statement released by the Command’s spokesperson, Samuel was apprehended after weeks of intelligence gathering and coordinated operations by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).
The suspect, who had long been on the police wanted list, is believed to be the mastermind behind several violent crimes, including armed robberies, targeted assassinations, and multiple killings across different parts of Lagos.

Police investigations revealed that Samuel led a syndicate that terrorized residents, attacking unsuspecting victims at gunpoint, and eliminating rivals on the orders of his criminal employers. He was also linked to the brutal murder of at least three individuals during gang-related clashes.
Items recovered from him at the point of arrest include two locally made pistols, live ammunition, a machete, and a black Toyota Corolla believed to have been stolen.

Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, assured residents that the arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the fight against violent crimes. He added that efforts are ongoing to track down other members of the gang still at large.
“The suspect will be charged to court once investigations are concluded. We urge members of the public to continue providing useful information that can assist security agencies in ridding the state of crime,” the statement read.
The police further emphasized their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of Lagos residents while warning criminal elements to desist or face the full weight of the law.
