Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso – In a significant move to prioritize public health and bolster its local economy, Burkina Faso’s largest natural juice company, DAFANI, has officially resumed operations.
The newly renovated factory aims to drastically reduce the nation’s reliance on imported fruit juices, often produced with hazardous chemicals.
The reopening of DAFANI is a major win for employment, creating thousands of jobs within the factory. It also provides a vital market for local farmers, who can now sell their produce, including mangoes, watermelons, and bananas, directly to the company.
This initiative is set to increase the consumption of healthy, locally-produced beverages across Burkina Faso, aligning with the nation’s efforts to reduce alcohol consumption.
President Ibrahim Traoré emphasized the importance of self-sufficiency in food and drink, stating, “The people of Africa should be responsible for what she eats and drink because strangers can never prepare what is safe for you when they need money!”
This development marks a proud step forward for Burkina Faso, championing healthy living and economic independence.
