Nigerian music icon, actor, and politician, Bankole Wellington, widely recognized as Banky W, has added another significant academic achievement to his impressive profile, earning a Master’s degree in Policy Management from the prestigious Georgetown University in Washington, D.C., USA.

The multi-talented entertainer officially announced this milestone on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, sharing a series of joyous photographs from his graduation ceremony on his official Instagram page. The images captured a proud Banky W, often seen beaming alongside family members and friends, celebrating the culmination of years of rigorous academic pursuit.

In a heartfelt post, Banky W offered a candid glimpse into the demanding journey he undertook to achieve this degree.

He revealed that the past few years had been a “stretching season,” requiring immense dedication as he juggled full-time graduate studies, a demanding fellowship on Capitol Hill, and the significant responsibilities of parenting two young children in the United States.

He explicitly mentioned the challenges of this balancing act, acknowledging that it was “completely exhausting.”

“I am thankful to share that I have just earned my Master’s degree in Policy Management (some institutions call it an MPA – Master’s of Public Administration),” he wrote, expressing profound gratitude for the opportunity to study at “one of the greatest schools on the planet for Public Policy.”

He also shared the deeply personal news of welcoming his second child, Hezekiah Oluwadarasimi Wellington, with his wife, actress Adesua Etomi-Wellington, right in the midst of his academic journey in Washington D.C.

Banky W attributed his success to the “grace of God, the strength of faith, and the support of family, friends, and mentors.” He emphasized the invaluable role of his wife, Adesua, for her unwavering support throughout this demanding period.

Beyond the academic achievement, Banky W used his announcement to share profound reflections on personal growth and resilience. He highlighted the importance of stepping back from the constant “dance floor” of life to find moments on the “balcony” – to reflect, reassess, and redefine one’s purpose.

He encouraged his followers to embrace the idea that “it’s never too late to dream a new dream, or redefine the ending of an existing one,” inspiring them with his own journey of continuous evolution.

This Master’s degree signifies not just an academic accomplishment but also a testament to his perseverance, faith, and dedication to personal and professional development.
