Nollywood actor Ebun Oloyede, popularly known as Olaiya Igwe, has publicly expressed deep regret regarding a past decision involving gospel singer Tope Alabi. In an interview with the Kasnastysugar1 YouTube channel, he revealed his refusal to lend his car to Alabi for her wedding, a choice he now considers a significant error. “One of my greatest regrets is denying Tope Alabi the use of my car for her wedding. Whenever I encounter her, I make it a point to apologize, acknowledging the impropriety of my action,” Oloyede stated. His initial reluctance stemmed from fears that the vehicle might be stolen during the wedding festivities. Ironically, just a week later, Oloyede himself became a victim of car theft.

He recounted a harrowing experience while traveling to Ibadan with his wife and children. They were intercepted by armed robbers who violently assaulted his wife, forced his children out of the car, and then took him to a secluded prayer ground. “They inquired about the car’s fuel level before stealing it and driving away. I narrowly escaped with my life that day,” Oloyede recalled, his voice filled with emotion.
