A video circulating online shows the native doctor denying that he performs “Okeite” rituals, claiming he adheres to the state’s new law prohibiting such activities.
Despite his denial, a government official in the video insists that Akwa Tiwara Okuku accompany them to his shrine to prove the efficacy of the rituals he advertises.
The incident has ignited debate about the state’s efforts to regulate traditional practices.
