
A 31-year-old married woman, Ajayi Esther, has been arraigned in an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly defrauding a man she promised to marry. Esther is accused of collecting N607,500 from Ajayi Oluwabusuyi under the pretense of planning their engagement, despite being married. The prosecution stated that Esther falsely presented herself as single and also claimed to be a teacher at Egiri Oke Comprehensive School in Iyin-Ekiti. She pleaded not guilty to charges of fraud, impersonation, and breach of peace. The Chief Magistrate granted Esther bail and adjourned the case until March 5th.
