Nigerian Gang Arrested in Kuwait for Armed Robbery
Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of a Nigerian gang involved in an armed robbery at a currency exchange office in Al-Mahboula.
The gang, after observing the office from nearby rooftops, executed a meticulously planned robbery, stealing an estimated KD 4,600 (USD 16,500) in foreign currency.
The Ministry’s press release on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, detailed how the gang employed metal plates to conceal their vehicle’s license plates during the robbery.
Following the incident, diligent detective work led to the apprehension of one suspect, who subsequently confessed to surveilling the exchange office and informing his accomplice. The second suspect was subsequently detained in the Aswaq Al-Qurain area.
A search of the second suspect’s residence uncovered the stolen funds and a quantity of methamphetamine.
Both suspects have been referred to the public prosecution for legal proceedings.
