The Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has raised concerns over what it described as the alleged loss of more than 200 personnel of the Amotekun Corps, calling the situation deeply troubling and unacceptable.
In a statement, the opposition party accused the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde of poor handling of security matters in the state and demanded urgent clarification on the circumstances surrounding the reported losses.
The APC further urged the state government to strengthen security operations and improve coordination within local security structures to prevent further incidents, stressing that the safety of residents and security operatives must be prioritized.
The party also called for a more transparent approach in addressing security challenges across Oyo State, insisting that families and communities affected deserve clear information and adequate support.
As of the time of this report, there has been no independent confirmation of the figures, and official responses from the state government are still being awaited.
