According to the Kwara State Police Command, the suspect—a 20-year-old man—was apprehended in Kaiama during a joint patrol conducted by security operatives.
Authorities say the arrest is part of ongoing efforts to curb activities of Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and related groups operating in the region. The suspect is believed to have connections with the Lakurawa network, which has been under surveillance due to suspected involvement in criminal and extremist activities.
The police added that further investigations are ongoing to uncover possible collaborators and dismantle any existing networks linked to the suspect.
