At least 23 people have been confirmed dead and 146 injured following multiple explosions in Maiduguri, Borno State, on Monday night.
The blasts occurred near the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH), Monday Market, and the Post Office area.
According to NEMA official Surajo Abdullahi, a total of 169 victims were evacuated, with most receiving treatment at UMTH, while others were taken to Umaru Shehu Hospital and Maiduguri Specialist Hospital.
Residents expressed fear over the return of violence to the city, which had enjoyed relative peace in recent years. Security agencies have since deployed bomb disposal experts, while authorities urge residents to remain calm but vigilant.
