The Nigerian Army says it has carried out a successful nationwide operation between November 29 and December 1, 2025, leading to the elimination of eight terrorists, the arrest of 51 suspects, the rescue of 27 victims and the recovery of weapons and other illegal items.
In a statement posted on its X handle on Tuesday, the Army revealed that troops of the 151, 152 and 192 Task Force Battalions in Borno State killed four ISWAP/JAS fighters and recovered rifles, ammunition, a Baofeng radio and other military equipment. The troops also stopped attempted terrorist infiltrations around Chibok.
The Army added that in Plateau, Taraba, Benue, Kogi and Kaduna States, personnel under Operation Whirl Stroke and Operation Enduring Peace rescued 20 victims — including women and children — and arrested suspected kidnappers, human traffickers, extremists, illegal miners, cultists and a gunrunner.
In Taraba, four violent extremists were killed, with weapons, ammunition and motorcycles recovered.
In Delta State, troops arrested two suspected cultists and seized a locally made pistol and mobile phones, while security forces in Plateau recovered 76 rustled cattle.
The Army also dismantled an illegal oil refining site in the South-South and arrested 25 drug suspects during joint operations with the NDLEA.
According to the statement, troops in Kaduna intercepted vehicles transporting explosives, detonators and fuses. Notorious gunrunner Shuaibu Isah, also known as Alhaji, was arrested while trying to procure 1,000 rounds of ammunition from accomplices who are currently being pursued.
The Nigerian Army reiterated its commitment to protecting citizens and ensuring that terrorists, criminals and their collaborators have no hiding place anywhere in the country.
