Six people lost their lives on Friday night in a tragic collision involving a truck and a commercial bus at the Nawfia axis, near the Enugu-Agidi Junction along the Awka–Onitsha expressway.
According to officials of the Anambra State sector of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the accident occurred when the truck, said to be speeding, lost control and rammed into the bus carrying several passengers.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash. Six victims were confirmed dead, while five others sustained varying degrees of injury. The injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention, and the bodies of the deceased were taken to the morgue.
Authorities say the wreckage has been cleared from the road to restore the free flow of traffic. The FRSC has once again urged motorists to avoid speeding, maintain safe driving practices, and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before traveling.
